Strawberry Shortcake

Heavy Whipping Cream

Sugar

Sugar Vanilla Extract

Strawberries

Blueberries

Sugar

Lemon Juice

Needs at least one hour to macerate if not more. Otherwise just use sliced fruit.

Shortcake Recipe adapted from Serious Eats: Strawberry Shortcake

  • 2 1/2 cups flour (11.3 oz, 320g)

  • 1/4 cup sugar (2 oz, 60g)

  • 1 tablespoon baking powder

  • 1/2 teaspoon salt

  • 10 tablespoons unsalted butter

  • 1 cup heavy cream

  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

  • Demerara sugar

Preheat oven to 400F.

Mix dry ingredients.

Add butter using hands.

Mix in cream and vanilla extract.

Shape dough into rectangle.

Cut into six pieces.

Sprinkle less demerara sugar.

Baked without chilling.
